Our Store Policy is part of our Terms Of Use.

All references to "shipping" shall mean delivery / despatch / mailing / shipping, where appropriate.

Order tracking

We strongly encourage you to sign up for your free SGBox.com Friends account using the same billing email address and shipping email address that you had provided in your order. This will enable you to track your order and order history. We also strongly encourage you to check your email everyday from the date of your order until you get a confirmation email from us stating that we have shipped your order, as we will contact you via email should we encounter any problem with your order.

Please note that your local post office's online tracking system may not be as updated as our shipping agent's and we can only advise you on the tracking results from our shipping agent's online tracking system. Please contact your local post office if their online tracking system is not updated and refer them to the tracking results from our shipping agent's online tracking system. Any tracking enquiries will be strictly based on the tracking results from our shipping agent's online tracking system.

Offer and acceptance

By placing your order on Our Website, you agree that you are making an offer and we reserve the right to decline or rescind your offer. Our acceptance of your order will take place upon our receipt of your order unless we notify you in writing that we do not accept your order.

Order for products and order for shipping service

Your order will consist of two parts, one part being your order for our products and the other part being your order of the shipping service that is provided by our shipping agent.

Non-acceptance of order

In the event that we do not accept your order, it may be a result of any of the following:

  • We did not receive your payment.
  • We or our credit card payment processing service provider suspects potential credit fraud in your order.
  • The product that you have ordered is out of stock.
  • We have identified a pricing or product description error in your order.

No cancellation of order

Once we have accepted your order, it is legally binding; you cannot cancel it and we will not issue any refund.

Special book sales restrictions

We can only ship specific country editions of books to mailing addresses in the respective countries, e.g. Australia editions can only be shipped to mailing addresses in Australia and US editions can only be shipped to mailing addresses in USA.

Payment

We accept many modes of payment.

All prices are stated in US currency on Our Website and our invoices are issued in US currency only.

If you choose to pay in your local currency and it is not US currency, you will have to pay the actual equivalent value of the US dollar amount of your order in your local currency.

Credit card and PayPal payments

We reserve the right to scrutinize and investigate all credit card and PayPal transactions for credit card fraud and PayPal fraud and take all necessary measures to minimize any potential loss to us. We reserve the right not to accept your credit card payment and PayPal payment where the probability of credit card fraud / PayPal fraud is deemed to be high. In such events, we will request you to pay by a non-credit card / non-PayPal method.

Non-credit card and non-PayPal payments

It is your responsibility to inform us about the status of your payment in writing via email if you make your payment by any means other than credit card or PayPal.

Despatch of products

Once we have verified that we have received your payment, we will ship all the products to you within one working day using the shipping service that you have ordered, provided that we have stock of all the products that you have ordered. In the event that we need to replenish any of the products that you have ordered, we will ship all the products together as soon as we have consolidated all the products. In the rare event that any of the products that you have ordered is permanently out of stock or will not be in-stock in the near future, we will contact you at your email address as provided in your order to seek your consent to replace it with another product of a similar value. We will refund you the value of the out-of-stock product via the credit card that is used in your order in US dollars or a check in Singapore dollars drawn upon a Singapore bank if you elect not to replace it.

We will ship all the products to you using the shipping particulars that you have provided us in your order. You agree that our proof of shipping shall be conclusive evidence of our shipping of our products to you.

Your duties and responsibilities

It is your duty and responsibility to ensure that you provide us with your correct and complete shipping particulars, including your full name, complete shipping address (including town, city, state, province and zip / postal code, etc., where applicable), a contactable telephone number and a valid email address. We will not be responsible for any delivery delay or non-delivery to you as a result of your provision of inaccurate information or insufficient information or a telephone number that the shipping agent cannot use to contact you (e.g. if you use call screening / blocking) in the event that they encounter problems delivering your package.

It is also your duty and responsibility to ensure that someone will be available at your shipping address to receive your order during the day (usually working / office hours) when the shipping agent arrives. We will not be responsible for any delivery delay or non-delivery to you if there is no one at your shipping address when the shipping agent arrives or if the shipping agent is denied access to your shipping address (e.g. as a result of natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, storms, etc., or your shipping address is an office building where the receptions counter is out of bounds to non employees or the receptionist does not accept packages, etc.).

In the unfortunate event that you do not receive your package after the estimated delivery date that we have advised you, it is your duty and responsibility to look out for any note, card or letter left by the postman or courier at your shipping address should they turn up there while there is no one to accept your package and then contact them to re-deliver your package. It is also your duty and responsibility to track and trace your package with 1-Click Track And Trace™ and follow all its instructions and perform all its suggested actions. If you do not contact the postman or courier after the estimated delivery date that we have advised you, or if you do not use 1-Click Track And Trace™ and follow all its instructions and perform all its suggested actions, we regret that we shall not be able to assist you further.

In the event that your package is subsequently returned to our shipping agent, they may inform us about the return of your package to our country and we will then try to contact you and seek your instructions. If you want us to claim your package from our shipping agent and resend it to you, you will have to bear the package reclaim fee (this is the fee that we have to pay our shipping agent in order to claim your package from them as they incur a shipping cost when your package is delivered back to our country), the re-shipping charge (this is the new shipping charge for us to re-ship the package to you) and a handling fee of US$20. If you do not want us to claim your package from our shipping agent and re-ship it to you, or if we do not hear from you by a specified deadline, we will not be able to help you nor claim your package from our shipping agent. We will not accept any returned package for whatever reason including but not limited to your refusal to accept or failure to claim your package from the shipping agent in your country for whatever reason, and we will not issue any refund for all such returned packages. We will also not be responsible for any loss that you may incur.

Estimated delivery dates

Please note that all estimated delivery dates of your packages that we may advise you are estimates only and such estimates are based on the data provided by our shipping agents. The actual delivery date may be later than the estimated delivery date should there be unforeseen shipping delays caused by your country's customs office, your local post office or courier, your local weather conditions, your local holidays, the holiday season, and / or the availability of a person at your shipping address to receive your package when it arrives. Business days include Mondays to Fridays for most countries. We shall in no event be liable for any damages, loss or expense including without limitation, direct, indirect, special, or consequential damage, or economic loss arising from or in connection with your use and / or reliance on our estimated delivery dates of your packages. If you need your order urgently or cannot afford any shipping delays, please choose a faster shipping method.

Delivery delay

More than 99% of our customers receive their orders on or before their estimated delivery dates. In the unfortunate event that you do not receive your order after the estimated delivery date that we have advised you, it is your duty and responsibility to look out for any note, card or letter left by the postman or courier at your shipping address should they turn up there while there is no one to accept your package and then contact them to re-deliver your package. It is also your duty and responsibility to track and trace your package with our 1-Click Track And Trace™ and follow all its instructions and perform all its suggested actions, including contacting your local post office with your package details as provided by our 1-Click Track And Trace™. If you do not use our 1-Click Track And Trace™ and follow all its instructions and perform all its suggested actions, or if you do not contact your local post office with your package details as provided by our 1-Click Track And Trace™, we regret that we shall not be able to assist you further.

Once a formal request is made to our shipping agent to track and trace your package, our shipping agent and their shipping partners shall need time to investigate the whereabouts of your package. This may sometimes take up to three months. That is the universal postal rules and regulations agreed and adhered to by all post offices around the world, and all senders and recipients have to agree to follow the same when we use their shipping services. We have no control over that. We shall in no event be liable to resend you a new shipment until your original package is returned to us by our shipping agent.

If you do not receive your order after the estimated delivery date that we have advised you, it shall not be assumed lost. Your package shall be declared lost only by our shipping agent after they had completed their investigation with their shipping partners in your country. Non delivery

If our shipping agent informs us about the return of your package to our country, we will try to contact you and seek your instructions. If you want us to claim your package from our shipping agent and resend it to you, you will have to bear the package reclaim fee (this is the fee that we have to pay our shipping agent in order to claim your package from them as they incur a shipping cost when your package is delivered back to our country), the re-shipping charge (this is the new shipping charge for us to re-ship the package to you) and a handling fee of US$20. If your package is not delivered to your shipping address or if you claim non receipt of your package in the following situations, we will not be able to help you nor refund you:

  • You did not provide us with your shipping details correctly, including your full name, complete shipping address and a contactable telephone number, thereby resulting in the non-delivery of your package or the delivery of your package to an address other than yours.
  • You did not accept or claim your package from the shipping agent in your country, and it is subsequently returned to our shipping agent in our country or us.
  • You did not respond to any attempt made by your local shipping agent to contact you regarding your package, or they were not able to contact you for the same.
  • Your package is delayed by the customs office or the shipping agent in your country.
  • Our shipping agent is able to provide us with evidence that your package has been shipped to your shipping address as per your order or at an alternative shipping address as per your instructions to the shipping agent in your country. We will forward our shipping agent's evidence to you in such cases.

If your package is declared lost by our shipping agent in writing, we will claim compensation for your packages from our shipping agent on your behalf and surrender the compensation to you. We will not be liable for any loss to you nor issue you any refund. You explicitly agree that you will accept any of the following evidence as proof that we had indeed passed the title for your packages to our shipping agent:

  • Any shipping document that bears the name or details of our shipping agent, the name or signature of their postman or courier and the date that they took over the title for your package, your shipping details and our company name or details.
  • Any online tracking result of your package on our shipping agent's website that bears your package tracking number and that indicates our shipping agent had taken over the title for your package.
  • Any email from our shipping agent to us confirming that they had taken over the title for your package or regarding their efforts to track your package.

Damage

As with all shipping agents, our shipping agent will ship all our packages together with numerous other packages. In the unfortunate event that you receive your package in damaged condition, please alert the postman or courier immediately upon receipt of your package, or contact the shipping agent who delivered your package in your country immediately, and make a Damage Report so that they may investigate the matter. You must keep the entire package and its contents intact so that the shipping agent can view them, assess their condition and recommend the appropriate compensation, where applicable. We will not be able to help you nor refund you if you do not make a Damage Report and produce the damaged package or items as evidence to the shipping agent in your country.

Risk of loss

All items purchased on Our Website are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the shipping agent.

Order checks

We take great care to make sure that each item in every order that we process is thoroughly and carefully checked by at least three staffs before we pack and ship it, so as to ensure that we do not make any mistake in the list of items in your order. It is your duty and responsibility to thoroughly and carefully check every item in your package once you receive it, as well as to take note and keep photographic evidence of the condition of your package when you receive it to ensure that nobody has tampered with it. In the event that you wish to dispute the list of items that you have received, please inform us within 14 days from the date that your package is delivered or within 14 days from the date that you receive your package, whichever is earlier, after which we will no longer accept any responsibility nor liability. Once we have received your dispute within the aforementioned period, we will conduct an investigation and check through all our internal records on your order to determine if we have made any error in your order. You agree that the results and conclusions of our investigation are final and binding and you shall abide by them accordingly.

We shall in no event be liable for any damages, loss or expense including without limitation, direct, indirect, special, or consequential damage, or economic loss arising from or in connection with the delivery delay, non-delivery, damage or loss of your order or package.

Customs duties and import taxes

We do not charge any customs duties or import taxes on your order. However, we cannot guarantee that your local authorities will not impose any customs duties or import taxes on your order when it reaches your country. You will be responsible for such customs duties or import taxes, if any. We are unable to advise whether your local authorities will impose any customs duties or import taxes on your order or provide estimates of the same. Please check with your local authorities. We are required by law to declare the nature and full value of your order, even if it is a gift.
