What should I do if my credit card does not have a Security Code number?

The Security Code number is a number printed on your credit card. Some card issuers refer to this number as the 'Card Verification Number', 'Card Verification Value', 'Card Verification Code' (CVV), 'CVV2', 'Personal Security Code' or 'Security Code'. The Security Code number is not embossed on the card and hence not printed on receipts etc. making it much harder for anyone other than the cardholder to know what the code is.

If you are using a Visa or Mastercard credit card, you may find your three-digit Security Code number in the signature area on the back of your credit card. Your credit card number should be printed here along with a three-digit Security Code number at the end.

If you are using an American Express credit card, you may find your four-digit Security Code number on the front of your credit card above your credit card number on either the right or the left side of your credit card.
